Coretta Scott King on Hate

Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.

As quoted in "Understanding Cultural Diversity in Today's Complex World‎" (2006) by Leo Parvis. Coretta Scott King (1927–2006) was an American author, activist, and civil rights leader. The widow of Martin Luther King, Jr., Coretta Scott King helped lead the African-American Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s.
