George S. Patton on Leadership

Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do, and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.

In "War As I Knew It" (1947). George S. Patton (1885–1945) was an officer in the United States Army best known for his leadership as a general during World War II. He also developed a reputation for eccentricity and for sometimes-controversial gruff outspokenness—such as during his profanity-laced speech to his expeditionary troops.
